SK8W8 was developed by Trion Hockey, a new Canadian company formed by three entrepreneurial partners with a common love for the sport. Trion's goal is to design products that give hockey players the competitive edge and improve the game of hockey.

 

What is a SK8W8?

 

SK8W8 is a unique weight system designed to be inserted between the boot and the blade, and worn during hockey practice to build speed, endurance and leg strength. 

 

 

How heavy are the weights?

 

SK8W8 comes in three different models: SK8W8 Adult, SK8W8 Pro 4 and SK8W8 Junior. Each model has different weights designed for the different skater levels. Each SK8W8 Adult comes with three weights, at 0.75 lb per weight. Each SK8W8 Pro 4 comes with four weights, at 1 lb each. Each SK8W8 Junior comes with two weights at 0.5 lb per weight. Each weight is loaded into the SK8W8 separately, providing the skater with multiple weight options that can be changed quickly and easily. 

 

 

How will SK8W8s improve my game?

 

Use of the SK8W8 will allow the skater, with proper training, to build both slow twitch muscles for increasing strength and endurance as well as improve fast twitch muscles for rapid quick sprints and acceleration. Having the SK8W8 under the boot allows for a greater fulcrum of action to occur, building strength in muscles required for skating. 

 

 

What are SK8W8s made out of?

 

SK8W8 is made from a durable, high impact nylon shell and steel weights that will withstand the extreme cold of ice training sessions.
